About Tailor

Tailor builds document collaboration software for teams that need reviews, approvals, evidence, ownership changes, and decision history to stay connected in one product.

The product is live across local government, construction, and mining; in pilot with a major state-government department; and being rolled out with a tier-1 systems integrator. See tailor.au for the product and tailor.au/ecosystem-preview for how the architecture fits together.

Joining this team means working close to customers while the implementation playbook is still being written.

The Role

You will be Tailor's first dedicated Implementation Lead. Your job is to land the platform inside customer organisations and embed it deeply enough that the work that used to live in email chains starts living in Tailor instead.

You sit between the product and the people who need to use it. You will map customer workflows to Tailor's capabilities, run the onboarding, train champions, and own the deployment relationship from kickoff to embedded practice.

This is a delivery role, not a sales role. Your success metric is simple: are customers running real work through Tailor and reaching agreement faster because of it?

Your first major deployment is a multi-agency state-government department — complex, high-stakes, and the proving ground for everything that comes next. Most of your week will be in-room with the customer's teams; the rest of it is shaping how every customer after them onboards.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the end-to-end deployment of Tailor inside customer organisations — first cohort to embedded practice
  • Map existing document, review and approval workflows to Tailor's capabilities; decide what to migrate, what to leave, and what to redesign
  • Run onboarding sessions, train champions, and make Tailor the default place agreement work happens
  • Identify integration points with customer systems (records management, identity, document storage, M365) and coordinate with Tailor's engineering team
  • Own the stakeholder relationship — from working-level staff to executive sponsors and procurement
  • Build the implementation playbook every later deployment will inherit
  • Feed implementation learnings back into product development; if a feature is missing, you are the first one to know

What We Are Looking For

  • Software background. You have built, shipped, or implemented software and can speak credibly to technical stakeholders without bluffing. 5+ years of experience.
  • Change delivery in large organisations, ideally government or other regulated environments. You know what it takes to land a new tool in a place that has rules.
  • Comfortable in ambiguity. Tailor is early. The first deployment is into a complex, multi-agency organism. The path will not always be clear and you will need to find it.
  • Range as a communicator. You can adjust register from procurement officer to developer to director-general in the same week — sometimes the same day.
  • Queensland-based, or willing to be. Most of the work is in-room with customers.

Bonus Points

  • Prior state-government or APS experience
  • Familiarity with document management, legal or policy workflows, GovTech or RegTech
  • Experience landing AI tooling inside regulated organisations
  • Early-stage / sole-implementer-on-customer background

Why Tailor

  • First dedicated implementation hire. You will define the playbook every later customer inherits — and have a hand in shaping the team that follows you.
  • Direct line to product and leadership. Roadmap conversations from day one. The friction you find in the first deployment becomes next quarter's release.
  • Real product, real customers, real revenue. Live deployments across local government and regional industry; partner-funded rollout into a major state-government department; practical customer demand for the work you will own.
  • Competitive comp + meaningful equity (4-year vest, 1-year cliff). Equity weighted enough that the right person feels ownership.
  • Work that matters. Tailor is making decisions traceable in places where decisions matter — capital programmes, planning, procurement, ministerial briefs.

How to Apply

Drop your CV (and a cover letter if you have one) into the Apply form at the top of this page. In the cover letter, tell us about a tool you landed inside a large or regulated organisation — what nearly stalled the rollout, and what you did to keep it moving.

If you would rather email us directly, reach us at careers@tailor.au.
